Scope
This policy describes information handling in Glimmer Pond 1.0 and on these product webpages.
Local use without automatic uploads
No registration or account is required. The pond, painting, feeding, and weather run on your Mac. This version has no advertising or analytics SDK, developer server, account sync, or automatic uploads. It does not track you across apps or websites.
What stays on your Mac
The app stores environment settings, custom fish names and artwork, shape and temperament, workshop drafts, a previous valid fish backup, and necessary recovery data locally. It also saves the natural weather state and whether the introduction has been shown.
Desktop interaction and permissions
The app temporarily uses pointer position, left mouse events, and window geometry, layers, owning processes, and opacity to identify desktop feeding, animate pointer avoidance, and reduce rendering when the desktop is covered. It does not retain an activity history or upload this information. If Accessibility access is already granted, it checks Finder element roles and parent hierarchy to exclude icon clicks. It does not read desktop file contents or record the screen. It does not request Accessibility access automatically; menu feeding works without it. Launch at login is registered only when you enable that option.
Weather and location
Weather is an artistic local cycle. It does not access location or contact a weather service. Automatic time of day uses your system clock.
Backup files you choose
Import and export access the JSON files you choose in standard system dialogs. The app does not upload backups automatically. If you choose a cloud storage folder, synchronization is controlled by that service and your settings.
Retention and removal
You can remove current fish in the workshop or discard a draft. Previous valid backups, recovery data, and files you export may remain on your Mac or in the location you chose. Resetting the environment keeps custom fish. Removing the app does not guarantee removal of all preferences, recovery copies, or exported files.
Website and system services
These product pages contain no analytics scripts, remote fonts, or ads. Website hosting may process network logs such as IP address, request time, and browser information to serve the pages. Apple manages App Store downloads and system diagnostics or backups controlled by your settings under its own policies. These services are separate from the app’s local storage.
